City Foundry STL Hosts Drive-Thru Restaurant Rally

On April 26, City Foundry STL hosted a Restaurant Rally to support the local restaurant community impacted by COVID-19. In partnership with area restaurants, the event served more than 2,000 meals and raised $50,000 for local charities.

Restaurant Rally is a donation-based, food drive-thru in partnership with local St. Louis restaurants. Sugarfire Smoke House began the pay-what-you-can initiative in March to offer food in exchange for monetary donations to help the service community.

The event hosted by City Foundry STL raised $25,000 in donations with City Foundry STL matching donations up to $25,000. All proceeds benefited the Gateway Resilience Fund, which supports restaurant employees and others affected by the pandemic, and the Little Bit Foundation, which provides help to students living in poverty.

In addition, the event offered guests a safe, first look at the City Foundry STL project. Guests remained in their cars and personnel followed safety measures recommended for low-contact service.

City Foundry STL plans to open to the public later this year.
